"Ferrovia delle Alpi" (EX ALPS)

It's not problems downloaders of the ALPS have, it's having to download all the assets and rolling stock it needs and then install them one after the other and in doing so miss some or perhaps screw something up !

I did all that for them and packaged all the required assets into easy to install with Mike Simpson's *Setup.exe download Zips.

Had to suspend downloads in September as they were exceeding my monthly bandwidth quota after a few days and my latest version of the DENMARK-2000-OTTO-ICE-3 being also in great demand looks like the same could happen again this month. But as I now have permission from Erich to upload it to the TS.com File Library, may do so in order to reduce demand from my web site and allow me to let a few friends download the re-packaged ALPS and all it needs, having been asked to do it again.

But there have been new scenarios since and you said that the missing overhead masts at the North-Eastern end of the tracks will be inserted and Bremen is still trying to improve the distant mountain views ?

What I would like to do is to download the latest version of the ALPS which includes all it's scenarios to date plus improvements, check that I still have all it needs and then package it again for those who would prefer not having to download all the route needs themselves !

I would also appreciate if you could TS.com PM me a user name and password so that I can download whatever from it's web site, trying to register not working for me !

Which problems are people experiencing??
Are you talking about FDA or the old ALPS version??

Downloading the ALPS and all it's required assets is still causing headaches for many.

I had to withdraw all it's downloads from my web site, heavy demand for them exceeding it's monthly downloads quota.

I would like to download the latest version of it, including all it's published to date scenarios but again am having problems getting registered.

A friend lent me his registration details, enabling me to download it the first time, but can not find where I have archived it ! :-(

What I would like to do is to once more assemble all the route needs into one ZIP and then make it available as one RS_Tools download from the TS.com File Library, I am sure Nels will allow me to do !

If you would like me to do that then could you please e-mail me at: and send me a User Name and Password so that I can download the latest version of it which includes all it's scenarios to date ?

I'm not an expert in editting or building. Just a big fan of Italian trains trying to solve KRS intall problems on Vista by reading a lot...it's a small hell.

After many hours and getting wise on how to run the game properly I hoped to install Ferrovia dell Alpi succesfully after intalling MK1 and Mk2 of RS too. I use the Package manager and while almost installed it says it cant find "serz.exe".

After ending the setup I cant even start RS anymore. Launching is impossible now.

Can someone tell me what to do?
I never had so much work in getting a beautyful game started... MSTS was never a problem except for some bugs.

further to the missing assets, if you install ALL the files present in the 2 folders (Assets FDA and Assets FDA 1.1) you will just see one missing with TMB.It's the Ice Olefai (something like that)
It's not really missing ,if you check in you program folder you find it, just written with different characters and TMD doesn't detect it.
Further to the wagons installation...never heard about similar problems...
I would try (if you have not done before) to enable RS folder to read/write operations...
You can use TMB to do that, just look at the option menu.

After a few false steps that were my fault, I managed to install the Ferrovia delle Alpi route -- or did I? It shows up in the route list, but two rolling stock items will not install through package manager: FS_Cuccetta_Beta2 and FS_UIC-Z_ESCI_2cl. Trying to install these produces an "unhandled exception" error because an ".inf" file cannot be accessed. If someone else has experienced this problem, I'd like to hear how you got around it. I also checked the route in RS_Tools..., which reported NUMEROUS missing bits and pieces.

I have MK1 & MK2 installed and am using the MK2 version of Package Manager, running under Vista.

I recall all too well having similar problems installing Italian routes & rolling stock in MSTS. Hope there's a solution available!

By the way, I am fully literate in Italian, so messagi in lingua vanno bene.

Scenario R7612 works with 1.1 version while you need to install "Doppio Servizio 1.1" to play it with 1.1 route version.
