If you mean trains which move by themselves you do not have to drive yourself then they are called AI trains.
Although not supposed to be possible to run AI services in FREEROAM scenarios, they can however be inserted to run to selected destinations and will start according to their set time.
Create a service and after giving it a driver then select a previously placed destination marker where you want it to drive to by clicking on the driver's blue "Set Destination" box and then click on the destination marker which will enter it into the Destination box. Give it a time when to start or leave the one already entered, which is the scenario start time !
F2 save the scenario and exit to the player scenario and the AI will start running if it's start time is the same as the scenario's ! :-)
You can have more than one such AI service running after placing them on to the same track one after the other, or on to more than one siding tracks and start them at intervals.
There is a multiple AI services spawner function which however has a problem, preventing further editing of services in the scenario it is being used in.
Here is one of such FREEROAM Scenarios AI trains running in my London Underground 4-rails tracks test route:
and if you have the RS Ilse of Wight add-on route, everybody should have, then you can see how it's done in my LU's test route FREEROAM Scenario:
